"In the South, tradition is an important aspect of life. Some traditions are as old as the hills and have become ingrained over time, while others catch on immediately. One of the newer traditions in southeastern Georgia is The Creek Revival Musicfest, a two day showcase of how immensely talented area musicians really are. It will take place this weekend November 18th & 19th at the Waycross Fairgrounds. Held in Waycross, Georgia, the festival was created in 2013 by the Osburn Family, owners of L.L. Creek Bar & Grill - a popular local restaurant and music venue known to locals as simply “The Creek”. For the past fourteen years, the Osburns have hosted live music by local and regional musicians several nights per week, providing one of the best sounding venues in the region.
After so many years of being involved heavily in the local music scene, the family decided to put on a festival to show their appreciation for the musical talent that flourishes in the Waycross area, giving music lovers a chance to see a large number of artists and bands over a two day period at a low cost. The event was very well received and has become an annual festival, now in its fourth year. This year’s fest looks to be even better than last year’s with a fantastic line up of musical acts. Friday night will feature headlining band The Movers And Shakers, from Statesboro, Ga and Saturday night’s featured act will be Custard Pie, a fast-rising jam band from Valdosta, Ga.
The best thing about the Creek Revival Musicfest is that all of the musicians performing are absolutely top notch. A wide variety of musical styles will be featured, including rock, folk, country, bluegrass, soul, funk, jam, indie, and blues from 17 acts.
The gates open to the public at 6 pm on Friday November 18th and the first band takes the stage at 7 pm. On Saturday, gates open at 12 Noon and music starts at 2 pm. Tickets are only $15 per day. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Tent camping and RV hookups are both available. There will be many vendors, artists, and other attractions for the whole family."
